We visited John Lewis in Cardiff today and Xander sat in a 'big boy' highchair.
To be honest I wasn't completely impressed with the highchair. Ok it was a pretty wooden thing, perfect for older babies and toddlers, but not ideal for a younger baby.
It only had a lapstrap so although Xander is able to sit up relatively well his shoulders were not supported meaning if he had lost balance and thrown himself backwards, forwards or to the side his head would have hit something hard (e.g. back of chair or the table).
We cushioned his head with the foot-muff off his pram and made sure he was far enough from the table not to hit it!
Other than that he enjoyed eating at the table with us and playing with his toys while we were there!
